Well it's been a lovely but cold falls and now we are almost at Christmas holidays... I hope everybody is enjoying it.

About Viladecans beaches

it's 2,7 km long and with and extension of 290.000 m2, from the stream mouth of Remolar to the Murtra lake. A pine forest, pine shed trees , planted to fix the dunes, separetes the beach from the rest of the space.

It's a natural beach next very close to ecological ecosystems, and it keeps the dune area in its natural state it is almost a virginal place, with no houses or buildings due to the airport neighbourhood.

While about Gavà:

A fine sandy beach with excellent services and communications

Gavà beach, some 3,551 m long and covering an area of 200,704 m2, not only provides visitors with perfect sand and sea, but also all the facilities and services necessary for the ideal holiday.

And here there all kind of place to stay, eat, drink....

EXPERIENCE TRAVELLING

The most negative experience that I have had travelling by plane was:

The flight Barcelona ( Spain ) - Sofia ( Bulgaria ) with a stop at Paris ( France ) . First when making the scale in Paris the air plane had already left and I had to wait 3 hours in the airport of Paris for a new plane, when it left I had to make another stop in Prague ( Czec Rep ) and from Prague to Sofia. I Arrived at 23H 55 min. when I should have had to arrived at 19H o ´clock more or less and to make matters worse the baggage stayed back in Prague.

The place I like the most is Palma de Mallorca. I haven't been in many different places so I can really say this place is the best. But so far I love it.

I know this place because I lived there for many years.

Last long weekend

This last bank holiday, my family and me, went to Andorra. We went by car. After three hours of pleasant travel, we arrived to Andorra. We were in our hotel, called El Pedral;. It is a hotel done with stone. Andorra is a beautiful place. My children enjoyed very much walking in its green mountains. There was snow and my children had a sledge. They played a lo with it. I hope we will can come back next year.

My favorite place is Central Park ( New York ) , It was 4 years ago more or less than I could visit it and it is an incredible experience, to see a great green area inside an enormous city!!! , as well as its sky-scrapers.

I like it a lot for the quantity of activities that you can be made apart from going for a walk: to run , to Skate , ride on a bicycle , to play Baseball , to play soccer...It is like being inside a movie

Long weekend

The 1st of May bank holiday Iwas working in the Internacional Tennis Federacion in Cornella de Llobregat ( Barcelona ). I worked from 8h o´clock up to 15h o´clock and in the afternoon at 20:45h there was a basketball match (F.C.Barcelona-Polaris Murcia). So it wasn't a long weekend for me.

Last weekend, I went with my family and some friends to my appartment in Arenys de Mar a little village near Barcelona in the Maresme Coast. We could enjoy the sun in the beach but the see was still cold for a swimming. However my daughter wanted to check that, and she enjoyed her first swim this year. Saturday I went to work with my husband because it is the day that I need more sell assistants and staff to sell. We came back in the evening and we finished my short holidays .

Sant Jordi's Day

Each 23rd April Sant Jordi’s Day is celebrated in all Catalonia. It is a special day, men give a rose to their couple and women give them a book. In the street there are a lot of stands with roses of different colours red, yellow and blue, and stands with all kinds of books.

That day I went to village centre for a walk . In the street I found the bookshop’s stands where in that day you can find especial prices a 10% reduction (books have always a fix price). The tradition is very chauvinist: a book for men a rose for women. I had to buy a book to my husband but he doesn’t like reading. I bought a book for me like a present for him. My daughter enjoyed this day in the school with special activities like going out and a literature contest or workshops.

La Diada de Sant Jordi, also known as el dia de la rosa (The Day of the Rose) or el dia del llibre (The Day of the Book) is a Catalan holiday celebrated on April 23 as lovers day with some unique twists that show the ancient practice of this day. The main event is the exchange of gifts between sweethearts, loved ones and respected ones. Historically, men gave their girlfriends and wives roses, and women gave their boyfriends and husbands a book to celebrate the occasion. In modern times, the mutual exchange of books is quite often. Roses have been associated with this day since medieval times. Barcelona is an important publishing capital in both Catalan and Spanish.

BIalystok City Festival

Every year in the end of June in Białystok takes place city festival, which is also name-day of Jan Klemens Branicki - the noble, under whose control Białystok had transformed from village to important town in region. It has almost 250 years tradition: first market was organised in 1749 when Branicki got right to do so from the King.

Every first and third Sunday of the month in Kiermusy, near Tykocin, is organised an "JARMARK DWORSKI". It draws a lot of tourist interested in buying and selling antiquities. You can get there almost everything: from rusted nail to silver service. It possible to try there traditional polish cousine: different kinds of soups, cheeses, honey etc. Whole event takes place in beatiful country surrounding.

Transport

Public transport is based around a fairly dense network of tramway and bus lines operated by a municipal company, supplemented by a number of private minibus operators. Local trains connect some of the suburbs. The bulk of the city’s historic area has been turned into a pedestrian zone with rickshaws and horse buggies; however, the tramlines run within a three-block radius.Rail connections are available to most Polish cities. Kraków airport, (John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice, is located km ( mi) west of the city. The annual capacity of the airport is estimated at 1.3 million passengers, however in 2006 more than 2.3 million people used the airport, giving Kraków Airport 15% of all air passenger traffic in Poland. The May Weekend in Poland takes place usually from 1st May (as in whole in Poland it's a Labour Day) till 3rd May, but could be longer (many of people takes their vacations to have May Weekend as long as it is possible).
3rd May in Poland is quite important national and religious festival: on this day in 1791 was codified Polish constitution, which is recognised as first in Europe and world's second (after USA) .
May Weekend is commonly considered as a beginnig of a grilling season and last such as long break before holidays.

Trip to Valencia

Last week I went on holidays with my husband to see the Museum of the Arts and the Sciences in Valencia. We wanted to see the building of the famous Valencian architector Santiago Calatrava. I was impressed by the building. We also visited the Oceanographic from the same architector and the dolphinarium which was wonderful.
We went to Valencia by bus from Peniscola. Our hotel was in Peniscola . It is 135 kilometres form Valencia . Peniscola is near Benicarlo . The beach boulevard is 9 kilometres long.
We went to Peniscola on the 4th it was 3 hours by bus. The hotel was wonderful, a 5 star hotel. There were 3 dancing rooms, an Italian restaurant, a garden restaurant, 3 swimming pools, one is a heated one, a spa centre, with hamman and sauna, a mini golf, piano bar…..

Ski it's quite popular, even if it's an expensive sport. There are several ski resorts near Barcelona, between 90 to 360 minutes by car.
The first tele-ski was set up in La Molina 80 years ago. You can go to la Molina resort by train from Barcelona, it's the line between Barcelona and Puigcerdà.

Games I like to play

Hey, the games I like to play the most are the first person shooter ones, online. I like to compete againts other players over the internet. The best game I've ever played is Empires, which is a HL2 modification.

The game consists on two factions that are on war, ones fighting for freedom and the others for the world domination.

It mixes the first person shooting with real-time strategy. There is a commander that leads their team, drops structures over the map like turrets or refineries, creates vehicles, gives enemy targets... etc. And the rest of the team fights on foot or using vehicles. The synagoque in Tykocin, a village in the province of Bialystok, is an early Baroque masonry synagoque which was build in 1624 and restored between 1974 and 1978. The synagoque is now used as a museum. Tykocin is located 45 minutes from Bialystok.

Cathedral

This is now the Cathedral. This beautiful neogothic church was built at the beginning of XX century by project of Jozef Pius Dziekonski. This church is very beautiful inside. There are too great stained glass windows. I think that the history of St. Fara Church is very interesting. In 19th century Poland was annexed by Prussia, Russia and Austria. Bialystok belonged to Russians. Polish people couldn`t build anything without Russians` permission... In 1899, after 39 year waiting period, city dwellers received a permit to build a little annexe to an old church in Bialystok...Later it turned out that this tiny annexe is many times as big as the main church. It is a "solid comment" on persecution that took place in Poland in 19th century... The "red" church this is annexe, the "white".... this is the main church. Now the church is the Cathedrale.

Narwiański Park Narodowy

The Narew National Park is located in the north-east of Poland and occupies a total area of 6810 ha. The Park was established on July 22, 1996 and occupies a part of the Narew valley between Suraz and Rzedziany. The park’s office is located in Kurowo in an antique manor house surrounded by an old rural park with numerous nature monuments.

The aim of the establishment of the Narew National Park was to protect the swampy Narew valley and its unique anastomosing river-system with richness of flora and fauna. Widespread, highly complicated systems of river channels have lead to the formation of a vast wetland ecosystem that nearly fills the entire valley bottom and forms a mosaic of flood plains, swamps and sandy mounds.

In total, 58 plants communities are found in the area. Marsh plants, mainly reed and pendulous sedge but also a huge number of aquatic plants dominate this area. Willows and beech-trees are found at the edges of the valley. More than 650 species of vascular plants represent the flora of the Park (including many protected species). The vegetation of the NNP is rich in species being under strict protection, e.g. Siberian iris, Greek valerian, common sundew, gladiolus, superb pink and orchids.

The Narew National Park and its buffer zones are a core bird life area of European importance. About 203 species of birds live in the various ecosystems. Moreover, the Narew valley is an important stop over for many migrating birds and provides excellent resting sites, particularly during spring time. Several of these species are threatened, including bittern, Montagu's harrier, great snipe, curlew, spotted crake, little crake, and aquatic warbler. The emblem of the National Park is the marsh harrier. Due to the unique diversity of the flora and fauna in the Narew National Park this area is an important site regarding the European Network of Natura 2000.

The Narew National Park is inhabited by 40 species of mammals, of witch the most characteristic ones - beaver and other are connected with water or marshy areas. The visitors can also meet elk, roe deer, wild boar, musk-rat, fox, raccoon dog, weasel, ermine, American mink, stone marten and others. Waters of the Narew River are inhabited by fish species including: pike, wels, roach, common bream, burbot and ide.

The word esperanto means 'one who hopes' Zamenhof's goal was to create an easy and flexible language that would serve as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding. Zamenhof was born on December 15, 1859 in the town of Bialystok in Poland.

Supraśl is a town located 16 km on northeast from Białystok. It's situated by the river, from which it gained its name, and surrounded by the Knyszyńska Forrest. Due to clearness of air, lack of heavy industry, unique climat and presence of valuable deposits of mineral waters is considered as good place to heal illnesses. It is also good place to sightseeing. The most important is orthodox Saint Mary monastery, founded in 16th century. The church was destroyed by the Nazis during the II WW, but recently i was finally rebuilded. While being around, it's necessary to enter the museum of orthodox ikons - one of biggest and most unique collection in Poland. Another place worth to see is a Bucholtz's Palace. Nowadays in this art nouveau style building is placed fine arts high school.

Branicki Palace in Bialystok,the"Versailles of Podlachia"was built for Count Jan Klemens Branicki. Great Crown Hetman and patron of art and science, raised in French milieu of the Polish aristocracy who transformed a previous house into the suitably magnificent residence of a great Polish noble a rival to Wilanow, making start in 1726. he also laid out the central part of the town of Bialystok, not a large place in the 18th century,whit its triangular market. Branicki Palace was destroyed by the Nazis.The poles rebuilt it after World War II as a matter of national pride. The Medical University is housed in the Palace.

GOLONDRINAS The swallows (“golondrina”) are the little ships that are doing tourist routes around Barcelona port. The trip lasts 35 minutes from “Moll de la Fusta” to the out side dock and you can disembark and take a walk. The price is 4€ for adults and 2 € for children . It is possible another route to Olympic Village where you can sail along the city’s coast. This trip lasts 1h.30m. and its price is 9 € for adults and 4,10€ for children. The oldest ship was built for the international EXPO in 1888.Now the new boats can take around 150 to 196 people.

BIEBRZA NATIONAL PARK

The Biebrza National Park is lokated in Northeast Poland, in the Podlasie Voivodship. The northeastern boundary of the parkis near the Belarus border. The Narew river and its confluents whit the Biebrza River from thesouthern boundary. The park was established in 1993 and whit a total area of 59 233 ha,it is the largest of the Polish national park. The Park includes 15 547 ha of forest,18 182 ha of agricultural land and 25 494 ha of wetland-the most valuable habitats of the park-the famous Biebrza marshes. The area of 3936 ha is under strict protection ha including the Czerwone Bagno Red Bog at the Grzędy Forest District. Unique in Europe for its marshes and peat-bog, as well asits highly diversified fauna, especiallybirds-the Park was designated as a wetland siteof global significance and is under the protection of the Ramsar Convention.

La Mona

"La Mona de Pascua" is a famous cake typical from
Catalonia and Valencia and it symbolizes the Eastern Week's ending. It's only eaten on "Eastern Monday". Commonly, godfathers use to give these cakes to their godchildren as a gift.

At the beggining it was just a cake with hard boiled eggs on it decorated with feathers. But soon chocolate eggs took over the normal ones. These chocolate eggs cakes were the first "monas".

The recipe was taken from the moors that lived in Spain. They used to bake a cake called "munna" as a gift for they masters. That's why it has such a weird name "mona" (mona also means a female monkey).


This is a monkey. Monkeys are awesome.

It's quite beautiful , as station and the views that has and the contact with nature, you can practice cross-country ski and alpine style, there are restaurants and rest areas to eat .... it is a very recommended place to go with the family.

Easter, also called Pascha, is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.
The week before Easter is very special in the Christian tradition. The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday and the last three days before Easter are Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday (sometimes referred to as Silent Saturday). This święconka basket was made in Ćwikły-Rupie (Podlasie voivodship) for Easter 2008 and contains: kielbasa, boiled eggs (coloured with onion), salt, pepper and bread. Decorated with bilberry leaves. Blessed food is eaten on Easter breakfast.
